The handle can be converted from left pointing to right pointing, depending on which way the door swings, and the little tool to do the conversion is included. Conversion is more likely to be needed on a privacy than a passage lock, because on a privacy lock the lock button has to go on the inside of the door.
It does not come with both sides! Which makes the dummy set more expensive than the locking set. I ordered 3, now need to spend an additional $60 to solve the problem caused by these inaccurate answers.
I know for a fact that the privacy (used for bedrooms and baths) and the passage (used for closets) come with two handles.
The handles are reversible. You will need to use the included 'key' to separate the handle from the body and reinstall on the other half. Dummy handles need to be order left or right.
