Yes, you can receive updates on several phones as long as you connect each phone by Bluetooth to the garage door device.
When i am away from my router, and connected only to internet via phone data, how is it possible for the gdb monitor notify me of door changes?
I don’t know the technology behind it but it does work and it works well. I suspect the signal is sent to the Garage Door Buddy app on your phone and if you have notifications enabled, you will get an alert even when connected through cellular service.

I needed a minder for my garage door. You know when you do something every day you kind of loose track about what you did. This was me. Sometimes I’d leave or think I’d leave the garage door open, only to find out after walking back out to a darkened alleyway it was closed. This device works great! I can even pick up a signal from around my apartment building. At first, my router didn’t recognize the device and I emailed tech support around 5 or 6 pm. I had troubles and they replied a little while later. I went back and tried the fix but it didn’t work. I’m a late night kind of guy, so I emailed them at 11:30 pm and I still got tech support. What company emails their customer at 11:30 pm? They did. Now it’s working fine and get a signal when my garage door is opened and when it’s closed. The WiFi signal is not great, but it works. Thanks for the help Tech guys.

Very easy to install, works very well, excellent product.
I back into my garage, so I sometimes forget to close the garage door when leaving. This product allows me to confirm that the garage door is closed without driving back to see that it’s closed. One unanticipated added bonus, you are notified if someone leaves or arrives wherever you are. I know, it doesn’t sound like much, but it’s really handy. As far as installation is concerned, all you do is put in the batteries, pull off the adhesive strip, stick it on the top inside of the garage door (the battery compartment finger depression/grip goes UP) and download the App. It’s great!

A great and affordable solution for monitoring a garage dooe
I have left my garage door open a few times and that should be happening no more. The shipping box comes with few instructions except to load the app. Once loaded, the app itself has most of the setup instructions needed. There could have been more instructions on using the app and the menu, but playing with the monitor device and app on the kitchen table makes it easy enough to figure out how it works. For me, the app does everything I want it to and is simple to use. The sticky tape on the back of the device wouldn’t have stuck to my insulated garage door. So I just cut a square hole in a 3/4 inch board to recess the device, screwed the board to my door, and used some mini bungee cords to hold the device in.

Simply Does Its Job
Download the app to your phone, put batteries in the unit, follow the onscreen instructions, and it’s set up. Clean the spot on your garage door, peel off the adhesive strip’s cover, and attach. Done. When the door is open, you’ll get a message within seconds, the same when it closes. There is an adjustable interval for notifications of the door still being open in the number of minutes between. Also can have it just warn you if the door has been open for more than 15 minutes.
