Good luck choosing a Robovac best for you.

I have used Roomba for over 10 years. Got this during Covid because my Roomba was down for repairs. I now run my Roomba and Eufy every day. The Eufy does a much better job of picking up dirt. (The Roomba bin sometimes has barley any dirt but the Eufy bin is full.) The Eufy is sooo much more quieter than the Roomba. From the looks you cannot tell, but the Eufy is shorter and fits under so many things. The Eufy has a locate on the app, so if you do lose it you can find it by pressing the locate on the app.(THIS is amazing) No more hid and seek like with the Roomba. They both do a great job of finding their charging stations. (I really think this is all about putting the charging station in a central location). The two side brushed on the Eufy I think help with the dirt pickup verses just the one on the Roomba. Bonus for the Eufy, if the side brushed start to bend to much, I just switched them to the other side. Like rotating a tire, they then I get more life out of them. I always get some type of warranty on my Roombas because their life span is about 2 years.. Going 9 months on the Eufy and it is still running strong.

Excellent product for the price
I’ve had a Neato Botvac Connected since 2015. Neato existed before but the Connected was the first bot that had LIDAR I think. It took several replacements and about a year, but it worked really well for many years.
It finally ended. I didn’t have a robovac for a few months. I looked under the bed and it was getting filthy. I bought the 30C Eufy. It was a net of $10.00 more than the 15C. I couldn’t tell from the description exactly how the 15C and the 30C differed.
They both had a ‘new model’ available notice on Amazon and I chose the one with the higher-valued replacement model which was the 30C.
I paid well under 200$. I was not expecting much but figured I’d return it if not happy.
On its first run, it immediately threw one of the brushes when it tried to get onto a short piled rug. I replaced and it went on its way. About an hour later I noticed both of the front brushes had come off. I let it finish. It had collected a full bin of dust, cat hair, and debris.
I knew they ‘snapped’ on and I had snapped them, but not enough. I read the ‘questions’ and found one on point. The writer said to make sure they are fully snapped on. I replaced them and maybe 7 runs later I have not lost one yet. I had missed something that wrapped around one of the front brushes. I figured it would be easiest to pop the brush off to clear the issue. I had a difficult time pulling it off until I got a flatware knife under it and popped it off.
Make sure they pop on fully.
The machine functions well, it is exceeding my expectations.
What do I like best as opposed to my former machine:
1) it is thinner than the Neato. The Neato took up more verticle space. As a result, I had to put several pieces of furniture on ‘stilts’ to keep it from getting stuck. The 30C Eufy has no problem with any standard height furniture.
2) It is very quiet. With the Neato, I could hear it from any room in the house. It’s not a huge house, but the Eufy is much quieter. You can have a normal conversation even when it’s just a few feet away. If it’s more than 20 feet away I have to look for it.
3) It’s a great value.
It bothers some people that it’s a bit chaotic in its navigation. You get what you pay for I guess. The Neato platform I have used for over 6 years did clean in a straight line and produced a map on each run showing the areas cleaned. But that requires more sophisticated hardware and software that cost more. It also creates more opportunities for failure. I had to send my Neato to the repair depot twice for tuneups. I’m okay with the chaos.
I purchased the 3-year extended warranty. The unit has a 12-month warranty and additionally said it started when the manufacturer’s warranty ends. So it should be reasonably low cost for 4 years. The brushes and filter will need replacements, but these appear to be fairly inexpensive.
Some people complain about the battery life. If you have a large home I guess that may be an issue. My 1400 sq ft gets done on a charge. If that was really an issue for me, I’d buy two and put a strip down to keep each one in its area.
I gave this a 5-star rating because it performs its function well and at a good price. I did not rate the subcategories because I really have no way of knowing. My house is all solid surface flooring with only a couple of rugs. We have two cats and a lot of cat hair. My hair is not long. My wife’s hair is moderate, not quite shoulder length. Thus far I have not had to clean the main brush since maybe the third run. Some reviews have complained about long hair fouling the brushes.
Thus far I’m very pleased with my purchase. I’ll update if that changes. I hope it does not.08/13/2022Verified Purchase
Let me introduce you to the kids…
We have a feisty teen (older model), named Kevin, and recently brought home his younger sister (this model), Karmann. I was raised that the kids clean the house so now we have a kid for both floors.
Since they’re siblings, I’m always comparing the two because that’s what parents do, right?
-Karmann’s cleaning pattern is still random but she appears to be a little bit smarter than Kevin. (e.g. I haven’t seen her crossing a room and then, all of a sudden, change direction for no apparent reason.) Sometimes I swear Kevin is just trying to show off or something. ‘Look what I can do!’
-Karmann does a better job moving in a straight line. Sometimes I think Kevin is drunk. You know, when someone leans just a little to the left while walking.
-I like having WiFi control so I can keep tabs on Karmann but her on/off button is WAY too big compared to the directional buttons. Sometimes I just want to move her out of the way, not accidentally have her stop to talk.
-I love the ‘find me’ feature on the app. When Kevin gets stuck, we are off for a game of hide and seek and I’m too old to be crawling around on the floor. With Karmann, we can cheat if we don’t find her right away.
-Kevin has never had much trouble moving from hardwood to a rug. Karmann, however, will sometimes get her brushes stuck under the rug (very low pile rug) while she tries to move onto it. She typically figures it out but we have had to rescue her a couple times. She is only a week old though.
-Both kids will run around for about 1.5 hours at standard and 1 hour on max suction before needing a nap.
-Kevin will act like a fool, trying to navigate over some things, while Karmann appears to be a bit stronger or she just doesn’t want to fool with it so she turns around. Due to this, she’s currently my favorite (don’t tell Kevin).
Overall, they both do a good job at making it so I don’t have to vacuum all the time. I will never expect them to make the house sparkling clean because they’re kids but it is WAY better than nothing.05/05/2022Verified Purchase
