Device detailed description

Power users rejoice. With Eve Energy Strip, individually control three outlets with the app or Siri. Put devices on autopilot. Rest assured that your appliances are safeguarded by overcurrent, overvoltage, and surge protection. Plus track their combined power consumption.
Equipped with cutting-edge Apple HomeKit technology, and crafted to absolute perfection, Eve Energy Strip connects to your Wi-Fi network without a bridge. And never sends your private data to a cloud. Make sure the 2.4 gigahertz band is enabled on your router and that your iPhone is using the band to add the Eve Energy Strip. Later, you may reconnect your iPhone using the 5 gigahertz band. The DHCP function must be activated on the router. Authentication via MAC addresses must be deactivated.
All WiFi-based devices with HomeKit support require the Bonjour protocol (Multicast) to work. Make sure that Bonjour and Multicast are enabled on the WiFi router and additional access points.
Network tools such as ‘Storm Control’ and others, allow multicast to be restricted and therefore Bonjour. Disable this setting.
So-called Powerline/PowerLAN adapters also restrict Bonjour or do not allow it. These access points are not suitable for the use of HomeKit-based WiFi devices.

Frequently asked question

Is consumption data shown per outlet or just the whole strip?

Consumption is shown on the whole Eve Energy Strip, all three outlets.

Can you control each outlet on the strip individually using your phone? Or is it just turning the whole power strip on and off?

Each outlet can be controlled individually.

Is the power strip controllable over the lan without an active internet/wan connection?

Inside your home you need a Wi-Fi router to use it local, for remote access a home hub and an active internet connection is mandatory.

Can you turn the USB outlets on and off via the app or the schedule?

There are no USB outlets at Eve Energy Strip, sorry.

    Perfect Strip for HomeKit Enthusiasts

I’ve recently been on a mission to utilize HomeKit within my daily life and was on the hunt for a power strip that allowed me to be able to control individual outlets via the HomeKit app. Through a few days of research and comparing energy strips, I stumbled upon this strip by Eve.
At first, I wasn’t completely sold on the idea of spending $100 on a energy strip that only had three outlets. However, with no other HomeKit enabled options in sight, I decided to pony up and purchase it to see if it was worthwhile.
Out of the box, I did have a little difficulty pairing it. If you also have the same issue, try resetting the strip by holding down the first and third power buttons for 10 seconds until the lights blink. After doing that, I was able to successfully pair my strip.
The strip is incredibly sturdy and does have some nice quality weight to it. It does not feel cheap, and, considering the price point, I am happy with the quality of the construction. They also did not cheap out on the wire, as it provides you with about six feet of length from plug to strip. The Eve Home app is also rather intuitive and allows you to control your other HomeKit enabled accessories directly from there as well.
Prior to purchasing this model, I did try to go with a cheaper alternative that did similar things. Although it was okay for a little while, I found myself wanting to have the control of my room at the power of my fingertips within one centralized hub—HomeKit. This was the missing piece I needed to complete my setup.

    Reliability is everything!!!

I’ve been through multiple cheap, China-made smart outlet plugs and strips. They all have issues one way or another whether it be not connecting to Wi-Fi or Apple HomeKit, unresponsiveness, or flat out random failures. I was hesitant to shell out the $100, but man it is WORTH it. I haven’t had a single issue since the day I bought it, months ago. It was quick and a breeze to set up, no issues whatsoever. Highly responsive. The surge protector itself doesn’t feel cheap and has a little weight to it. The EVE app for iPhone is also pretty neat, it allows you to monitor your power usage for each device you have plugged in. I don’t use it much honestly but I think that’s definitely a feature some people might find useful. I do wish it had more outlets or at least some USB ports considering the price (they could have made it fit), but after all the frustration I’ve dealt with in the smart plug world, I’m very satisfied with my purchase.

    Almost perfect

Set up was flawless HOME. Feels and looks like a serious piece of equipment, which I like. I bought it for my expresso machine and grinder to have them ready to go when I get up. My only issue is that it can not handle both. I do have an ECM set up which is pretty power hungry, but still a bummer that I have to use a WEMO for the grinder.

Great product line, very expensive though

I love Eve products, use Bluetooth as to not bind up my Wi-Fi in the home, but this product uses Wi-Fi and not Bluetooth. These products are very expensive when compared to others. I expected this to be sturdier as well. It is very light weight and made of cheap plastic.

Wish I Could Get Energy Usage Statistics Per Outlet

I like almost everything about this, but wish that it would break the power usage statistics out for each outlet rather than just for the entire strip.
