A lot of Modern Forms fans rely more on the pitch and/or contour of the blade instead of spinning extremely fast RPM, which generally has the benefit of moving more air with less wind noise. Modern Forms achieves some of the best airflow specs of any brand across the ENTIRE line of fans, no small feat to achieve. I've worked with several of their products now, and the airflow is some of the best available. Forget speed/RPM, that's an old fashioned gauge that doesn't really apply to the new wave of products hitting the market, especially those with DC motors (as the entire Modern Forms line uses) and larger blade spans. CFM doesn't mean everything, but it is a usable gauge, and by comparing those numbers in this scenario, you'll see what Modern Forms is achieving in airflow.

What is the product number of the sloped ceiling adapter for a white fan?

The compatible sloped ceiling conversion kit in white is Modern Forms XF-SCK-MW

Is this fan battery operated? Does it require “hard wiring” ?

This can requires hard wiring to an outlet box in the ceiling. Thank you for your interest in the Roboto Smart Fan.

    50% Success, Dissapointing/Non-Existent Technical Support

I purchased two of these fans. They were installed by a licensed electrician and an installer. One works, the other one is not possible to control from the wall switch. When bypassed, fan is controllable via WiFi.
So, I did what I am used to – contacted technical support. After several hours of holding, and multiple chats, which resulted in one callback by chat tech support,. who simply transferred me to the same support queue, my problem remains unsolved. I have never reached anyone with any technical expertise, even though chat support INSIST I do that before I try replacing the wall switch.
Sadly, I have concluded that my great idea of installing a smart fan resulted in a frustration, and desire to look elsewhere. I fear I may have wasted money on this product.
When they work, fans appear efficient, are relatively silent, and look nice and modern. I just wish there was *some* support for when things don’t quite work.
    EDIT on 2020-08-22:
While I received a partial refund from Amazon to cover the purchase of the new wall switch, getting actual useful support from Modern Forms was almost non-existent. After more calls and chats, eventually they contacted me, and suggested that ‘the red wire on the remote may be bad’. New wall remote fixed the issue I was having, and I am leaving it with that. Fans work, and are OK, but due to support level (not) received, I cannot in clear conscience recommend this product for purchase, unless you are ready to perform any and all troubleshooting on your own. Updating review from 1 to 3 stars based on product actually working.

Great performance, and much less money than my neighbor's choice!

I don’t usually do reviews, but wanted to provide counterpoint to the people giving 1-star reviews without putting in a li8ttle effort.
Bought three of these to both update to DC power, and stop staring at three different fans down my house. All three arrived in great shape, and installed with no drama at all. They’ve manually for 6 months now, and I got around to installing a new mesh network with a discrete 2.4Ghz network to finish the IoT installation. There’s a source of a lot of annoyance – when you do the IoT, be sure you’re talking on the right frequency.
Overall the setup went very well. There were a couple of fiddly things where I needed to back up a step or two and repeat, but no big deal. Here, I think the biggest issue here is people who do not read the fine print to make sure the fan is spinning before doing any programming, or have problems getting the 2.4Ghz connection dialed in.
The bottom line is that it took about 30 minutes to get all three fans running in the app (one took a second try), and 5 minutes to get them integrated into my Amazon Echo home. The voice control works flawlessly so far. This allows me to tweak them by voice during the day, and then I use the Modern Forms app to schedule a complete shutdown of all three each night since I’m not very diligent!
I seriously compare these against the $950+ fans my neighbor bought. I don’t need the ability to trigger the fans based on the house’s humidity, and I really don’t pine (no pun intended) for a real wood fan blade.
One last thing, if it’s an option for anyone considering these ( or others, I guess). I was lucky enough to have power to all three fans on wall switches. Although I thought about eliminating the wall switches (no need with remote control), my neighbor pointed out that these switches would make rebooting any fan very easy. Yes you can do it through the Modern Forms app, but I’m a belt-and-suspenders guy, so have actually used this once already.
Very happy, and getting ready to do three more fans to finish the whole-house update!

Smart home integration with Google Home works great!

The features I really wanted were a wall switch and smart home integration, and this ceiling fan checked both those boxes for a only a modest premium over a ‘non-smart’ ceiling fan.
The smart home integration after about a month has been highly stable which is great. The app itself works decently enough, but I don’t expect to open the app again since I have it integrated with Google Home.
The main quirk is that the optional light is present in the application and has buttons on the wall switch even though it isn’t included. It doesn’t affect usage, but just feels sloppy and less polished. The app will create two devices ‘Fan’ and ‘Light’ and you cannot delete the light from the app.
The fan itself has 6 speed settings from low to high (1 to 6). On 1 to 5, the fan is barely audible and on 6, you can start hearing the whirring from the wind being generating. The amount of wind is very decent for indoor use, and I usually have it on setting 3 for a decent feeling of an air draft.
Installation is easy enough, with the hardest part being the wiring. There are a lot of wires to connect the control box but the diagram is relatively easy to follow (don’t forget to disconnect the power from the breaker box!). The wiring is color coded, and the switch installs like most other switches (requires neutral). On the control box, there are 2 extra wires for the light so you can just tie those off any ignore.
Overall, I’m happy with the purchase and feel its a fair price. The fan itself looks clean and modern, and performs well enough. I’ve bought 2 of the 52-inch fans, and 1 of the 62-inch fans.
