Frequently asked question

Does this Eufy connect to 5g wifi instead of 2.4? The previous version only connected to 2.4

It is 2020, but alas... 2.4 only and the app was developed by toddlers.

Can the G30 also work with the boundary stips?

The Robovac G30 doesn't support your boundary strip function, but you can order our Robovac G30 edge which can support the boundary strip function. It can work with the boundary strips of Robovac 30C. Please contact our support if you need more assistance. Have a great day!

Any luck on carpets?

It’s actually better on carpet than I would have expected. I’ve got some nasty, early 2000’s shag still hanging out in my house, and a long-haired dog. I can see where it goes, you get those beater-bar marks in the carpet, and the dirt container will get full. I still pull out the big upright vac once a week (okay maybe once every two), and get a fair amount up that the robo-vac just couldn’t get up. I imagine if you had lower-pile carpets, or no dog/pets, you’d be able to get away with robo only.

What voltage does it work with? I have seen a post here saying it worjs with 120 to 240v?

Robovac works with the voltages from 100 - 240V,

Why did I wait so long to buy this?! We lived in a 1200 sq foot home so I felt like we didn’t need one because there was just too much stuff and it would have trouble getting around it all. We then moved to a 2500 sq foot home and this was my first purchase. THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER!! We have a 135 lb dog that sheds like crazy and a 2 year old that leaves crumbs behind everywhere she goes. I bought one for upstairs and one for downstairs and run them daily. What a huge difference this has made!! Our rugs don’t look as gross and dog hair is no longer flying up into the sky. I did a lot of research on Eufy vs Roomba, bissell and shark and this one got the best reviews. I have never owned another one so can’t compare. It is quiet, easily goes under things and is easy to clean. I have not yet synced it up to my phone, I am actually having some trouble doing that but it works just fine to turn it on manually so that’s what I’ve been doing. We have all hardwoods plus area carpets. No complaints!!!! Save yourself the exhaustion of constantly vacuuming or feeling like you have to hire a cleaning service and just buy this!

    It’s great little vacuum but…

Let me first say, great vacuum I have a cat and I didn’t realize how much hair was on the floor and this little vacuum did an EXCELLENT job picking up the pet hair and other things in the carpet. I run it everyday and it does a great job.
BUT… A couple of things that could be improved on..
When I bought it, I thought I could “set it and forget it” I was wrong.. you have to babysit it because it will “get stuck” and it will tell you it is stuck when there is clearly way for it to get out. It was tangled up in my dining room chair legs.
Also my apartment is less then 900sq ft and it gets 75% of my apartment in one charge. Which is about an hour or so. Then it will charge and then it will go back and pickup the other 25% most of the time. One thing in the instructions says it will go directly to the charging station if there is less then 15% battery charge remaining. I have yet to see that.. when it gets low. It will bump into everything as it goes back to the charger. I thought that was very odd.
Another thing.. the vacuum collection container isn’t large, in my opinion to small. In the beginning I had to dump it often. Granted it was full of cat hair but I thought it would have atleast alerted me that it was full.
You have vacuum proof the house.. Here is what I mean, stated earlier I have a cat and cats have toys to play with. The vacuum pushed his toys around or tried to suck it up. I wish it would have known that I’m running over something and turn off the suction and keep going. It sounds trivial but it does recognize when it’s wheels are off the ground.
One last thing.. when something gets stuck on the bottom of it and I have to pickup the vacuum it says “it’s being picked up” please return it to its home location. Why? I just picked it up. Can’t it just continue along?
In summary.. as long as you can live with the idiosyncrasies then it works great. I’m keeping mine but in a couple years I’ll upgrade to a better model.

    Great for the price

I purchased this unit to replace a Roomba e6. Summary review – it is far superior.
Many of the negative comments are true, but are in comparison to a $600+ Roomba. If you want all those features, reliability, intelligence, etc., then pay $600+. This review is in comparison to a Roomba e6. I paid $300 for the e6 years ago, and paid &lt,$250 for this unit, on sale.
    Compared to Roomba e6 :
    – Far better coverage.
It maps as it goes, so it tries to cover as much as possible without repeating. It can do most of 1300 sq ft house in a pass. The e6 could barely cover one room with it’s brain-dead bouncing around. It does not memorize the map for use in the next pass (unlike a top-end model). It will sometimes miss a room, but next pass it might get that room but miss something else. Not ideal, but far superior to price-equivalent bounce-around model.
    – Doesn’t get stuck
The e6 could not make it through a pass without getting stuck several times. I’d have to spend so much time rescuing it or blocking & unblocking areas with pillows, etc., that it took less time to use a vacuum. This thing is fire-and-forget. It has a low profile so it easily fits under furniture the e6 would get stuck under.
    – Price
    Hella functionality for &lt, $300.
    – Easy to clean
Hopper and brush are easy to remove, empty, and clean. I recommend gently cleaning the dust filter with a kitchen spray nozzle and allow it to dry. This is not mentioned in the manual, but that filter gets really dirty and needs more than just banging it out. Do it after every use.
    – Quiet.
With the e6 running, we could not watch TV in a separate room, even with the door closed, because it was so noisy and would fruitlessly bang itself against our bedroom door. I don’t watch TV (except sports) in the same room as this unit, but it is not disruptive through a closed door. It is running while I am typing this and it is not at all distracting, unlike the e6 that sounds like a jet landing in my house.
    – Good suction
Picks up way more than the e6. The hopper needs to be emptied after every use. Neither the e6 nor my Dyson pick up that much.
    – No problem with tile/carpet
It has no problem transitioning from tile to carpet or rug or bath mat. Other people have reported a problem. I think this depends on your particular floor/rug/mat/layout.
    – OK with cat litter
We have a litter box mat that grabs most of the litter as the cat steps out. It won’t pick that up. But it will get other stray bits of litter.
    – Wifi setup hinky
It was not as simple as 1-2-3. I’m tech savvy so I figured it out on my own (can’t remember how). Others have reported this problem. Call tech support for help. Echo other reviews – they really need to make this process simpler so non-tech savvy person can plug-and-play this thing.
    – Unknown reliability
I don’t know how reliable it will be, as I’ve only had it a few weeks and run it about a dozen times. I almost never get extended warranties, they are usually a rip off, but I got one for this because of warnings that it only lasts about a year. It’s about $35, so if it dies inside 3 years I’ll get another.
    – App functionality
There are complaints that you can’t do some things with the app like tell it to skip a room or whatever. I don’t use any of that, for this or the e6, so I don’t know and don’t care. I don’t want to tell it to do anything, certainly not mid-cleaning. I just want to start it and let it run.
    – Finds it’s way home
The e6 navigates as well as a drunk sailor. Almost never found it’s way home so I’d have to go hunting around to find it, on hands and knees looking under all the furniture, and every nook of the house. Waste of my time. This unit has gotten lost only once.
    – Wife likes it
    Nuff said.
The main reason I got this was so that it could go under furniture, not get stuck, and get better coverage than the e6, for ~$300. It does all that. If you want more, cough up $600. Highly recommend.
