good DIY videos on company site
Super easy to install and setup. Comes with a cover plate if your existing unit is larger and there’s a different color paint hidden….I recommend painting behind old unit first…plate makes it look clunky.

Who doesn’t like these? We just installed ours this week, have always had programable thermostats in the past. After installing the Nest app we found there is an electric rebate through our electric company for $75 for each unit. Nice!

Decent technology but can be a little confusing to install
Starting with the Google Nest Termostat, it installs pretty easily. Though trying to figure out how to install the plates behind it can be a bit weird.
Software setup for it is pretty straight forward and easy to use.
The plugs, once you find the right app, which looking at this, it seems to be a generic app with different names… or its different companies using the same app developer which uses the exact same template for its devices. Seriously. The app that worked on this one is Tuya, but another device that I have (lights) the app name is Go Smart, but the interface, sign in language, etc are all the exact same. From what I see, you have to use that app to connect the device first, the link the Tuya account to your google home before it will recognize it. I tried to do a straight setup through Google Home and it never could find or setup the plug. Otherwise I would have given it a higher rating.07/26/2022Verified Purchase -
Should have bought this sooner!
Very convenient and easy to use. I did a lot of research first and watched how-to install it videos which helped a lot. Installation can be tricky with getting the wires right but not impossible. Love being able to control it without walking across the house. Should have bought this sooner!

Second replacement in five months.
I love being able to control this product from my iPhone and the support has been 110%… really knowledgeable, patient, and will resolve your issue. Unfortunately, the first Nest I purchased in January 2020 suddenly stopped connecting to WiFi in March 2020 (replacement #1 – no problem). Then in June 2020, the Nest’s battery malfunctioned (replacement #2 – again no huge problem because of high quality of support staff).
