    Difficult to install/lack of instructions

The installation instructions were limited and difficult to understand. The back of the wall switch refers to a ninput/output, neutral, load 1, load 2, and line. (What does that mean? Where do the black and red wires go)? We searched the internet and tried to find instructions/videos but we couldn’t find anything online to help with installation. We randomly placed the wires in the back of the light switch and was able to get the ceiling fan to work but the lights never came on.
We couldn’t find a phone number or website to ask for help.
We downloaded the app but it wasn’t helpful for installation. It looks like the app is user friendly after the light switch is installed.
The light switch is nice quality. Unfortunately, the light and ceiling fan to won’t work due to lack of installation instructions so we will return the product.

This is not a plug & play device. Knowledge of electric wiring, home networks & routers will help.

Installation can be broken down into simple steps as follows:
1-Turn power off to existing switch at electric box by turning off circuit breaker in electric panel.
2-Remove cover plate of existing switches and screws that hold old switches in place.
3- carefully pull old switches away from the box so that you have clear access tor the wiring. It is a good idea to take a photo of the wiring at this point in case you want to reverse the process.
4-Identify the wires connected to each switch. A volt meter will help. The directions refer to a ‘neutral wire’ which is usually white, a ‘Live Wire’ which is usually black, and a ‘ground wire’ which is usually uninsulated copper wire. There will be two black wires connected to each switch. One is the live wire which brings electricity to the switch. The other black takes electricity to your load (light bulb, fan, other device you want to turn on when you flip the switch). You will want to identify which wire on each is the ‘live wire’. One way to do this is to use a volt meter I assume you know how to use it). Turn the power to the circuit back on at the breaker box, Carefully hold one volt meter probe on the ‘ground or common wire’ and the other on one of the black wires connected to the switch. You should get a reading of 120 volts or so if the black wire is ‘live’. If you don’t get a reading try the other black wire. If you get a reading on both, flip the switch and do the test again. The black wire with the voltage is the live wire. The one with no voltage goes to the ‘load’. Do the same for the other switch. Turn the power off at the breaker.
5- With the power off to the switches disconnect them from the circuit. You may have to take a wire nut off to do that.
6- Remove the short black wires that were bundled with the wire nut and wrap the bare end of the black wire from the new switch to the remaining black wire bundle and screw them together with the wire nut. You have now connected the electric input to the switches (one wire for both switches.
7-Now connect the two ‘Output’ wires that were connected to the old switches to the white ‘Neutral’ bundle with the wire nut.
8- Finally, connect the ground wire from the new switches to the copper wires using the wire nut.
9- That completes the electric wiring portion of the installation.
10-Double check your wiring. Make sure you have no short circuits or unconnected wires. Let the new switches hang outside the box and position it so you can test it after you turn the power back on.
11- Turn the power on at the breaker box and check to see if the lights on the switches are on, If not, carefully double check your wiring remembering that the circuit is now live,
12 – Carefully press the bottom of each to see if you can turn your device on and off.
13 – If everything is working fine you can turn the power off at the breaker box and push the wires back into the box and attach the switch plate to the box using the 4 screws provided. Adjust the wires so they fit cleanly into the box without binding or coming loose. Leave the outside cover plate off for now.
14 – Turn the power back on at the power box and make everything is working before snapping the cover plate. You are now finished with the electrical connections and ready to connect to your home WiFi using your cell phone and the ‘Smart Life’ App which you’ll have to download from the Internet. The directions for that are fairly understandable depending on your knowledge of routers and the Internet. Let me know if you need help and I’ll add directions for that if needed.

    Double Switch instal

We are one day into using the product after instal. So far so good. No product issues so far.
    Instal quirks
First time using a fixed double set. I do like that. Now one switch is sitting at an angle because I’m too lazy to take the face cover off and adjust the set screws.
    The UP arrows are nice.
If you don’t know what the Line and Load sides are you should call someone else who does to instal the switch.
I didn’t use the recommended App because I already used Gosund for my other plugs. It did take a bit to get it paired but that was only after realizing you have to accept the switch WiFi name on my phone. Overall not bad about 20 minutes.

    Works great!

Great product once’s installed correctly and connected to Wi-Fi successfully. I can monitor and switch on/off when not home. Things to pay attentions to (1) black connects to the hot line. (2) need 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi router to work.

    Labels were wrong

I liked the price. I don’t like that the labels were all wrong and that I can’t get my other “smart” switch in the 2 gang to work. The light just stays on. I have to call for support again. The first time I called they asked me to reinstall everything which was frustrating. The side with the green light does work fine I will say.

Easy to use. Medium difficulty to install.

A little difficult to install due to not having any colors on the unit, but once that was figured out, the wires just screwed in, and the device was easy and quick to set up. It has worked great since, and we can use it to control or bedroom light and the ceiling fan. It has nice indicators on each switch that show whether it is connected to the WiFi.
