- World’s Longest Wireless Range: Powered by LoRa technology, the long-range yet low-power system offers the industry’s longest receiving range in the market (1/4 mile). Our long-range coverage enables its use in areas challenging for most residential Wi-Fi systems, such as basements, outdoor porch/patio areas, sheds, free-standing garages, even remote outbuildings on your property.
- Easy and Effective Property Protection: The YoLink wireless Water Sensor could not be easier to install, just place near or under the equipment you wish to monitor. Suggested uses are near or under sump pumps, toilets, water heaters, laundry machines, dishwashers, sinks, fish tanks and any other location subject to water leaks and flooding.
- Early-Warning Notifications: Receive real-time early-warning notifications (in the form of smartphone banner alerts, limited SMS/text messages, and emails) and protect your home and property from water damage, Due to the water-tight and submersible design of the original Water Leak Sensor, an internal sounder/siren would not be heard outside of the water-tight housing. For an audible alarm, consider our Siren Alarm or consider the Water Leak Sensor 2 which has a built-in sounder.
- Plug, Plug & Play! Plug Hub into an outlet, plug Hub into your router, scan in new devices, and enjoy your new system, in minutes! Your Hub is the only device that connects to the Internet, and a wired or WiFi connection is required (wired required for easy & fast Plug, Plug & Play, and most reliable and secure connection). WiFi connection set-up difficulty varies and requires changing settings to your network and/or your phone Changes to your network, passcodes, etc, require changes in the app.
- From Simple to Super-Smart: After setting up your notification preferences, keep it simple and let the YoLink system do the rest and monitor your home and property for you. Or, utilize available advanced automation features, including 3rd-party integration with Alexa and IFTTT, to interact with other YoLink and 3rd-party smart devices. Limited only by your imagination!

Frequently asked question
The sensor cable of the YoLink Water Leak Sensor 2 detects water along the length of the cable. For more information, please kindly refer to the following guide http://www.yosmart.com/support/YS7904-UC/docs/instruction
Yes, when you setup the routines, you choose the messaging, then you can select all your Alexa devices or some of Alexa devices under your account to make the announcement of the water sensor detects water leak. Thanks!
It is possible for the probe cable to get a build-up that can slow the response time, particularly slow drying (as the gunk on it might hold moisture). For this application, I recommend wiring our sensor to a float switch. It will work great, even in a dirty water environment. We do not suggest any particular model. Most of them are interchangeable by flipping the float around 180° but you want one that has closed contacts when in the water-detected/high position, for it to give you a 'water detected' indication on the app. It is possible to work with the opposite (open) and get the desired response and notifications in automation settings but the app will display it as no-water when you have water at the float. No, but you can Turn Off Beep sound in the app.

It really does work
I had excellent customer service help and I tested it with just a tiny amount of water and I got the notice on my iPhone. I just wish it would text so I can hear a ping or sound to tell me look at the text on my iPhone.
I wear hearing aids when they work so a text would be great so I can hear the text notification sound. I don’t always check email when I am out. Also I have peace of mind knowing I have something to tell me get home water is leaking. I don’t an alexa or dot thing as they are to expensive and they don’t call the police for me when I don’t have my iPhone on hand so I haven’t been able to see if this works with Alexa. Medical alert devices are useless when their dispatchers don’t follow instructions and tell the patient/customer to go through a hallway, on an elevator to let the paramedics in. Stupid to tell someone to do that.10/05/2022Verified Purchase
Love The Extended Range
I love that these do not use Wi-Fi. The range is excellent and so is the battery life.07/23/2022Verified Purchase
Works in a toilet tank to let me know the tank didn't fill up.
I’m totally blind. I got this sensor mainly to play with initially. The sensor is square in shape. It has a wire that plugs into it 3.5MM and the wire at the other end has 2 round contacts that stick out about 1/4 of an inch to detect water. The Battery compartment is on the back of the sensor with a screw mount whole. The end of the wire that has the two contact probes also has a screw whole too. Their is a button on the front of the sensor for allowing you to put it in set mode and to cause it to pick up settings afer you have made them. However you could just wait and the settings would be picked up the next time it checks for updates and the like. Their is also a sticky mount that you could stick to something to hold the sensor itself. The wire just guessing is about 2 to 3 feet long. I didn’t check the length of it.
I got the sensor online in the YoLink App. For those that are blind, you’ll need to go to the 3rd unlabeled button if you already have sensors online to add this one. At least that is true for Android.
In the App, you can go into the configuration for the sensor to either have it alert you when water found or not detected. You can also turn off the beep as well. You can also set the amount of time if the problem exist to be reminded about the problem. That a blind person will ahve trouble setting being it is a slider bar and not a combo box, edit box or flick control.
So in my case! Like I said, I initially got this to play with. I got around to putting it in a spot that I can get some use out of it. I put the wire probe in the toilet tank and using the sticky hook mounted it on the side of the tank. Why I did this is twice within the last 6 months! I had the toilet tank handle get stuck down and the water ran for a few hours before I noticed it. So put this sensor wire in the toilet, went into the app and set the sensor to alert me when no water detected and turned off the beep. After all, I don’t want it beeping each and every time someone flushes the toilet. Set the alert to remind me after two minuts if the tank hasn’t filled back up. The amount of time you set is up to you! If you have a few people in your house! Depending on how fast your toilet takes to fill! You may want to increase the reminder time.
I did have a case of the sensor alerting me about the tank being empty but it wasn’t. But I just have the probes in the water. So I don’t know if it was the fact that some water went into the air and the probes weren’t touching the water or not. But that toilet hadn’t been flushed in over 24 hours. Probably was more like 30 hours. As far as I could tell they whir touching the water. when I checked out the probe. Unhooked the probe wire from the sensor checked the batteries, took the probe and dried it off and put everything back like I had it. I’ll have to see if it happens again. If so, then this may not meet my needs and I’ll have to down grade the number of stars I gave it.
I just did this in the last 3 days before creating this review.07/01/2022Verified Purchase
Works great - but not waterproof
Works well – actually using it with existing water sensor mounter in pool. One thing to be aware of is unit is not waterproof – I mounted it in pool skimmer lid, and battery department get wet – Mounted it further away with extension cable and everything is great06/28/2022Verified Purchase
Works perfectly but…
Would be 5 star but loses 1 star for no way to stop the sensor from triggering except unplugging the cable. I got this sensor to monitor our sump hole, ours is a gravity drain but sometimes bad winter storms drift snow in front of the drain & cause ice plugs. We have a pump on a timer to drain it but with the spring thaw coming I worried we might get a backup, so I got this sensor. I just tested it, the cord itself, NOT the jack at the end of the cord, is what needs to get wet to set of the alert, only problem is that it won’t stop triggering until the cord is dry so it has to be unplugged from the sensor unit until it dries out. This alone should mean 2 cords should be provided with original purchase so they can be swapped out. Now I have to purchase a separate back up cord. Other than that it works like a charm. I have several Yolink devices now, I love that I can purchase devices individually as I need them to expand my smart home network.05/25/2022Verified Purchase
Great range, sensor cord hard to make lay flat on floor
YoLink LoRa range is not Wifi nor Zigbee/ZWave and far exceeds the range and reliability of those other radio technologies. I am a big fan of YoLink products for remote sensing. That being said, the sensor cord on this water sensor is difficult to get to lay flat on the floor under my washer. Resolved this somewhat by purchasing an extension stereo miniplug cable which allowed for sensor body to be placed much higher on wall behind washer/dryer and allowed me to “coil” the sensor cord itself with some weights (the type used to hold down air lines in a fish tank) so that it would stay flat on the floor under the washer. Another consideration is that once the sensor cord gets wet (anywhere along its length as designed) the alarm will constantly sound until the sensor cord is completely dried. This takes forever to get it completely dried. To deal with this, you will want to use an extension of some type so that you can easily have enough total length so that you can unplug the extension from the sensor body to cancel the alarm, then dry the sensor cord separately. This way you don’t get a constant alarm state. Without an extension, the sensor body either ends up near the floor, or you don’t have enough of the sensor cord laying on the floor to increase your chance of getting it wet depending on how the water flows after a leak. At any rate, with these mods for my particular application, I am very pleased with this product. Customer technical support is also very good and if you call the company for support as I did, you actually get to talk to some of the founders of the company. My only wish is that they would open the API so that the YoLink devices could be integrated directly with my home automation hub (Hubitat) and so I would not have to rely on Cloud integration to interface with voice and push notifications like I currently have to via Alexa.04/17/2022Verified Purchase
