No, doug. The WeMo Smart Plug, WSP080 is not a dimmable plug.
Will this work on dual band routers? I can’t choose to be on 2.4 or 5, and it seems there are no smart plugs out there that will work!
Hi, Amee. Wemo devices are designed to work with the 2.4 GHz network band only. If you are using a dual-band router just make sure that your mobile device is connected to the 2.4 GHz WiFi. Wemo devices may not show in the Wemo app, or you might only see the welcome screen if your mobile device is connected to the 5 GHz WiFi.

– the units were used (expected) but had not been factory reset.
– exchange correspondence with the seller and they made it right – excellent service.

-these continue to occasionally be a real bear to set up. one purchase works flawlessly but another takes several attempts and resets to connect.
-this happens with both the Wemo app and the Apple Home app.

Works but the programm ing is super convoluted.
Easy, reliable to work with but the programming is incredibly difficult sue to each on/off naming and sequencing. If you have several, it gets even more crazy stupid. An absolute fail on the folk that screwed this one up.

Devices Work as Advertised
Had an issue with one device not being able to be setup. Problem was the serial number on the card was not the same as the number on the device. The package had obviously been opened, perhaps as a return. The seller stepped up and went beyond what I expected. If there is a problem connecting the device check the serial number on the device, not on the card in the package. The integration into Alexa and HomeKit was entirely seamless. Firmware had to be updated on one of the devices, very easy with the app. I recommend these over the Google devices as Google devices will not work with HomeKit. I have 5 of the plugs and all work without issue.

Can’t be better.
I have been using these from past 9 years, and have more than 8 units in use, and during Christmas decorations I use almost 14 Wemo plugs.
They are very easy to setup, pair up using iPhone and works seamlessly with Google Home.
I have seen various negative reviews about this product, however, in past 9 years I have never faced any issues, malfunction or failures.

WeMo - good product, outdated app, works well with Google Home
I have several WeMo smart plugs and light switches throughout my home, leveraging Google Home as my base home network for device integration. For those of you bashing WeMo products for not working with Apple HomeKit, your review is valid, but it should be noted that that’s more of a problem with Apple’s poor HomeKit than it is with WeMo. Granted, I’ve had some challenges with WeMo products, specifically the plugs where every now and then it will seemingly be offline in the Google Home app, but just fine in the WeMo app, but these products do work very well overall.
Apple rushed its HomeKit after realizing how much market-share they had lost (or really never had!) to Amazon and Google. My advice would be to dump your HomeKit and go with Amazon Alexa or Google Home. You’ll find your home’s integration with WeMo and other products will work much better than before.
One example of how great these products are – I have several lights in my house set to turn on/off based on a schedule. I was recently on vacation in Jamaica, and I could turn my lights off from Jamaica so I didn’t waste the electricity while I was out of town.
