    Love these cameras

I’m a tech. I love gadgets and different technology. I’ve tried many different cameras from low level to high level and these are now my go to camera for inside the house. I have them all over my downstairs. Not only do they serve a security purpose, but they come in handy when the kids do something and say it wasn’t them or they fight with each other, they can’t lie because I can pull it up on the camera and see exactly what happened.

Good Camera, App Keeps Setting Off My ISP Security

This Kasa Smart Security Camera is super easy to set up. I was able to set it up, install a micro SD, and get the app installed and was recording within 10 mins. The video is great, the audio is great, the night vision is great. I have it set to record 24/7 since that option, and live view are free. If you want to set up motion recording you have to subscribe to Kasa. The only issue I have is that the app keeps setting off my ISP’s security and has to be isolated. I am using it to view the cat room, so its not a big deal, but I would be worried if I were monitoring people.

    Best camera

I bought this camera to watch my dog while I’m not home. I love how it detects motion, and the quality of the video is excellent. It also allows me to see at night who is up and moving around the common area without having to get up. I haven’t been on the receiving end of the talk features, but my kids always answer me when I pop in.
I did sign up for the cloud, it was affordable, and I could do everything from the app. What I love the most about this is I can zoom in on things if I need to. Sharing videos is also so easy. Everything can be done on the app, even powering it on and off when I don’t want it on. 10:10 recommend, would buy again.

    Good basic surveillance camera

I’ll be honest, I got this because I’m lazy and wanted a way to see if my washing machine is done running without having to run down to the basement. For that purpose, this camera is excellent. It has plenty of degrees of freedom to turn, pivot, mount, etc, and the image quality is good enough to see the ‘done’ light, and that’s all I expected from it. I don’t use any of the automated features – for me, it’s just a way to tap into an app and look at something. I’m a bit of a TP-Link brand loyalist, so I felt better about getting one of their cameras. The price was right, too.

24/7 recording option facilitates integration with other apps

I bought this camera for a specific project: My other devices include a Fitbit Versa 2 with which I monitor my sleep. Fitbit provides a graph showing different sleep states. I wanted to record videos to compare with the Fitbit graphs. For example, I wondered, was I really awake during the night when Fitbit reported that was the case. And did I look different in REM sleep than in deep sleep.
I set the Kasa camera on a night stand, and I chose the option to record 24/7 after inserting a mini SD card, which the camera automatically formatted. I wouldn’t say the menu is highly intuitive, but after about 15 minutes I developed some facility in figuring out how storage and retrieval were configured. I had an easy time attaching the camera to my network. The resolution is excellent even in a dark room. The stability of the camera on my night stand is excellent, and that is also true when the camera is tilted on its base. I haven’t needed to permanently attach the camera with the screws and bracket provided. Because the video clips are labeled by time, I can easily correlate them with the Fitbit sleep graph. For me, this little camera is worth the price and deserves a 5 star rating. I’m pleased I was able to integrate recordings with my Fitbit sleep monitoring app as I’ve described and hope to find other apps where video supplementation will be useful. I have not found it necessary to use the cloud recording option and like the privacy of recording only to an SD drive.

I have been through a book of cameras, and this is by far the best I have used and I truly would rather replace my other cameras with some from the kasa ecosystem if my bank account would let me.
This is also the cheapest camera I have owned, and outperforms all others which have had exponentially higher price tags.
When they say these babies record 24/7 they mean it.. it requires a subscription to do so but it’s a very low amount monthly (can’t remember off the top of my head it was a few dollars at most)
The motion zones/cropping works exactly as you’d expect it to (compared to other cameras cough blue by adt that blatantly ignore the crops you set up)
I have never had a connection issue with this camera, whatsoever
You are able to set it up to be in privacy mode at set hours, which has been especially useful for my bedroom as I have it set to record when I am at work, and to be disabled when I am home.
