How long do the battery in the sensors last? If app is installed, will it notify for low battery?
The batteries in the ELS100 leak sensors are good for 3 - 5+ years. There is no notification of low battery. The system should be tested on a regular basis and batteries replaced as required. Will this unit notify me via internet when a shutoff has occurred?
Yes. The Bulldog-JW connects to your local wifi and works with the eWeLink app. It also works with Google Home, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings and IFTTT supporting notifications, automation, timers, etc. Please contact EcoNetControls direct for more details.
Can this be mounted sideways

Will valve turn back on once sensor is dry again(after leak?). Will a false positive just turn off + on again?
No. After a 'Leak Alert', the valve will stay off until the alert is reset at the control module by pushing the Alert Reset Button. Once the Leak Sensor is dry and the Alarm has been acknowledged and reset, you can turn the valve back on using the button of the control module or using your smart phone. Works and stopped flood in my house
I have the detector in my laundry room. The washing machine supply line burst while I was at work (the washing machine is on the second floor in my house), this could have been a real disaster. I have a sensor in the laundry room, it detected the water shut off the main supply valve. I received an alert on my phone. When I got home (after a hour drive home, enough time if the water had not shut off for gallons of water to have come out of the burst hose), there was only a small puddle of water on the floor by the washing machine. Cleaned this up, replaced the hose, reset the main switch. This valve control saved me what could have been thousands of dollars in water damage. Since ordering this starter, I have ordered nine more sensors (under each sink in the house, by each toilet value, under dishwasher, inlet for ice maker for freezer, by the hot water heater, and of course by the washing machine. Highly recommend this product.

This product really works as described. No need to be connected to internet.
There is very little to dislike about this product. It works right out of the box. Simply mount the motor to the outside of the water shut off valve with the provided clamp using a screwdriver, plug it into the little control box, place your sensors anywhere water could come from, ie. under toilet tanks, under dishwasher, in the laundry room etc. They even provide directions on how to connect it to your internet in your home, this connection allows you to turn off your water supply from a remote location via your android phone. Their technical assistance staff was very available to answer any questions. If you know how to use a screwdriver you can install this system.

After a washing machine hose broke and only partially flooded our basement because we were home, I decided to install an automatic water shutoff. This was very straightforward to install. Great that it works with or without WiFi. Contacted support for a minor issue with a sensor and they got back to me almost immediately and talked me through resolving the problem. So far, have not had it need to turn the water off, but it’s great peace of mind knowing it will in an emergency.
