They are supposed to work up to about 300', but they each will act as a signal booster in case one is too far away. Then check your power connections. Are all the cameras powered? Each camera has a network cable connector that has an led in it. That led will be lit if it's receiving power. Also, check that the antennae are vertical to the base station. If the antenna is horizontal you probably won't get a good signal.
Can the configuration be accessed remotely. ie hours, area monitored, email or text alerts?

Has anyone had success using a hdmi to dvi cable from the nvr to the monitor,i have not ?
HDMI to HDMI works well so HDMI to DVI should too. I did find that several tv's I tried would not recognize the HDMI signal so there may be some device-specific issues.
