  • SMARTER ON/OFF CONTROL: Turn your lights on and off remotely or automatically through Z-Wave. Hub required (sold separately), scroll down for compatibility. Voice control with Z-Wave hub ONLY (will NOT work directly with your smart speaker).
  • NEW 700 SERIES Z-WAVE: Boost your network with the latest Z-Wave technology that offers more range and faster communication speed than ever before. This switch is also a signal extender that will make your Z-Wave mesh more stable. And if you need to troubleshoot connectivity issues, access a built-in range test tool straight from the switch!
  • SIMPLE 3-WAY & 4-WAY: Use it with existing on/off switches (NO dimmers) in your 3-way, 4-way, or 5-way set-up, even if load and line are not in the same box. No need for add-on switches, no need to rewire other boxes. Just wire the Zooz in the box with power and neutral (check your boxes before buying).
  • FASTER INSTALLATION: The new model is only 1.16′ deep so you can easily fit it in a shallow or crowded box. It takes half the time to install the S2 switches in 3-way and 4-way set-ups than for any other Z-Wave solution. Intuitive wiring diagrams are printed in the manual (look for more on Zooz website) and if you need custom instructions, just ask!
  • BONUS FEATURES: Scene control (your hub needs to support multi-tap triggers), NEW multicolor LED indicator with adjustable brightness levels (your hub needs to support advanced settings), instant status updates, and replaceable paddles (light almond, brown, and black paddles sold separately).
  • EXTRA SECURITY: Based on the new S2 authenticated security protocol. Features SmartStart for secure and instant pairing. Z-Wave Plus and ETL certified for communication and safety standards compliance. Lifetime tech support.

does the 'dumb' switch that you connect this into in a 3 way configuration need a Neutral wire as well?

You should have at least two wires between your Zooz and the 'dumb' switch in an existing 3-way setup, so you should have all the wires you need. The dumb switch operates the Zooz by 'turning or or off' the runner wire, so your existing 3-way switch will work as well as a regular 2-way switch.

If used with a manual slave switch, when the slave is off can the zooz switch still turn the lights on?

Yes, the slave switch can be opened and closed to turn the dimmer on or off, it will detect the circuit closing or opening from its traveler pin to its neutral pin. E. Will this work with the Insteon hub?

Short answer is no this is Z-Wave not Insteon.

When i go to smartthings to add zooz by brand, i don’t see model “zen76”. what device do i use?

You can just use any on/off switch or click 'Scan nearby' in the app instead of going by brand.

My goto solution for all my zwave switches!

Zooz has some of the best zwave device options available. I’ve been installing their 700 series toggle switches (zen73/zen74) for Samsung Smartthings that past year for several different configurations from a single switch up to 3 & 4 way switches without any issues.
Zooz tech support is just plain awesome, very responsive, very knowledgeable and has helped me anytime I’ve running into unique pre-existing wiring configurations. Being able to use a single zooz smart switch in a 3 or 4 way switch configuration has been a game changer and significantly reduces the conversion costs. Connecting these switches to smartthings is easy and I haven’t had any issues with the switches post install, very reliable switches.
I highly recommend zooz zwave devices and especially this line of switches! You won’t be disappointed!

Dumb switches in box otherwise awesome switch

Ordered three Zen 71 switches. 2 of the boxes contained regular dumb switches. They should check the package contents before shipping. The one I did receive works great with my smarthings hub. Really liked the optional smart bulb feature to leave power on through switch. Would rate them 5 stars if I had received 3 in boxes. Received replacements and the correct ones work great.

Great solution where there is no neutral wire!

When we moved into our new house (built ~2002) I was extremely disappointed to find that several of the 3-way switches did not have the required neutral line to be able to re-install the smart z-wave switches we had used at our previous house. After much research and trial/error, I discovered the Zooz brand. We purchased two toggle style dimmers (which are hard enough to find… we wanted toggle not rockers) and after getting them installed I was ecstatic to discover they work!
Our previous smart switches required ‘add-on’ for the second switch, these work with the mechanical switches without issue!
After a few months of use, we actually added a ‘remote’ switch (battery operated, no wire) to control from the other side of the room and allows us to turn on/off three different smart switches (tap 1/2/3 times) or all of them together (tap 4) which is a great convenience. I would definitely recommend the Zooz switches!

        Best Zwave switch—with small caveat

I highly recommend Zooz switches and dimmers. Everything about this switch makes you feel you have purchased a quality product. The packaging, the instructions, the flawless way it includes itself, web site, and customer service are all first rate. The feature that allows you to use a three way switch and wiring currently in place to turn the light on or off from another location saves you $20 for the GE accessory switch, and some time compared to the GE/Honeywell/ultra pro switches from Jasco. Note that you turn on and off, but cannot dim remotely with an old manual switch. There are also no fins you have to break off. Dimming works well with a truly dimmable LED, like FEIT.
I’ve installed hundreds of home automation switches, and these are the best, but although I gave 5 stars to this switch compared to others, a couple of issues miss actual perfection. First, the paddle assembly appears to be about 1mm larger than other switches. If your house is 25+ years old and uses the thick, hard Leviton switch plates, you may need to buy new plates. Don’t force the switches into the plate. They will bind and will eventually not operate properly. Either file the old plate larger (a PITA) or drop a buck or two on a new plate (recommended). Many of the new plates are screwless, and it is a nice look you may want to include in your upgrade anyway. Regardless of the brand of switch, it seems I have a 50/50 chance of breaking the old, brittle multiple gang plates anyway trying to wrestle all the switches into place.
Also, unlike the GE/Jasco, these switches do require that you know which wire is your line (hot) and which is the load (light), and they come with nice labels for the wires and excellent instructions. No big deal, and I think it is safer to know which wire is hot anyway.
Finally, there is capacity. These are 300 watt dimmers rather than the 500 or 600 watt capacity on Jasco and some other HA technology. The Zooz switches are made for the 21st century. They use neutrals so that LED bulbs are welcome, take up less depth in the box and have no heat fins. They play well with LEDs (though beware that many “dimmable” LEDs are flickering junk, no matter the switch). At 300W, these dimmers will not handle a vanity mirror light with a large array of incandescent bulbs. If someone insists on keeping and dimming a power hungry dinosaur like that, don’t use the Zooz dimmer. This one is good for 5 60w bulbs, but some builders thought 6 or 8 would look luxurious.
        Enjoy!
