Frequently asked question

If I already own a hub where can I buy just these color bulbs?

Dear customer, Currently we don't have the color bulb sold separately, it will be released soon.

I already have several sengled bulbs networked and wanted to add some multi color ones but can’t find them. Do they have a part number i reference?

Dear customer, Currently we only have this color bulb kit available, our color bulb will be released soon.

Can you for example group 3 bulbs in the same area to turn on and off with the 1 command. We have a 3 bulb vanity light over the bathroom twin basins.

yes, you can put as many devices as your hub allows you to program into one command. I had my 3 turn on at the same time based on a schedule event: e.g., every day at 6 PM.

Does each bulb act as a repeater? I need this setup to act as a mesh network due to the locations I want to place each bulb.

They don't have that capability.

Lots of light, lots of color

I bought a whopping 76 Sengled bulbs to cover my house, in all different sizes. I grabbed eight of the BR30’s, around 20 of the candelabras, and then an immense stack of A19’s. I have these in every bedroom, every bathroom vanity, and all the common rooms: kitchen, living room, billiard room, dining room, and both upstairs and downstairs hallways.

i purchased these purposefully for the fact they’re not Zigbee routers/repeaters, as I didn’t want to destroy my mesh when I physically power them off with my similarly immense pile of Legrand Adorne Touch switches. Instead, I use a whole bunch of the Innr wall-warts, all homed to a Conbee II controller, attached to my Intel NUC running the Home Assistant OVA under Proxmox.

The good: they all have very even light output, they get as bright as I’d expect any other 60W-equivalent bulb to, and the colors palette is pretty decent. The not so good: I wish the colors had more brightness available, some of the more rich / deep colors like almost any purple simply cannot be replicated, and the white color tends to run cooler as they’re dimmed.

You can find these on sale from time to time, and when that happens, the price per bulb is pretty good. I started with 18 of the A19 bulbs and just continued adding until basically the whole house had at least some color option in every room where it made sense. The kids love it, I think it’s a riot for holidays, and overall I’m happy with the purchase. I’ll end up probably buying a few more before I’m done.

    Using with Hubitat HE

I am new to the home hub world. For various reasons, I went with the Hubitat HE. I am writing this review mainly to let my fellow Hubitat users know that these bulbs are working well for me.

These bulbs are rated as ‘indoor’ but I am using them outdoors on my front/back porches. It’s only been a few weeks, but so far they are surviving fine in the winter weather, with multiple nighttime temps in the 20s. Hopefully they’ll do alright outside, but if they don’t I can’t really fault the product as it’s rated only for ‘indoor’…

I chose them because they are one of the brands with built in compatibility on the Hubitat HE. I had no issue discovering and pairing them, and no issue getting them to work. I easily adjusted the colors to red and green during Christmas time, and have them set to white now in front, and yellow in back to reduce insect attraction, and they’re working just fine on my timer rules.

I only needed 4 bulbs, but the price on this 6-pack was too good, basically one free bulb compared to the 2-pack prices… I am very happy with this product, now it’s just a question of longevity, and time will tell on that…

    Great ZigBee bulbs.

The bulbs work great and pair with every Zigbee controller I’ve tried. I’m currently using them with Home Assistant using their ZHA integration. They are plenty bright, but it would be nice if there was an option for some even brighter bulbs. One thing to note, although ZigBee compliant, they do NOT act as a ZigBee repeater.

    Works with Home Assistant

All functionality seems to work well with Home Assistant and a Nortek hub. Warning though – all Sengled lightbulbs are not Zigbee repeaters. They do this so shutting them off will not disrupt your Zigbee network. If you need/want your bulb to be a repeater of Zigbee signals, look for another brand like Hue or Seedan.
