This air conditioner have auto shut off?
yes, this auto turns off when it thinks the room reaches set temp. AC compressor turns off first with fan still running, then after a bit the fan turns off too.
Do i have to vent it outside or can i run ac without vent hose?
You have to vent it to the outside as the output air is hot negating the cool air it is putting out to cool the room. One night my vent hose detached and it was like I was running a heater instead of AC

Cools well. Rest of features just ok
This device cools really well. But, While it is ‘smart’ it is only marginally so. I can turn it on/off with Alexa, and set temperature but cannot control the fan speed. It is pretty loud in a bedroom and so I’d like to start cooling on high, before bedtime, and then change fan speed to low when going to sleep. The remote can do this, but requires direct line of sight and is hard to read in dim light/with old eyes.
Worst: the thermostat. Seems to represent a range of +/-4°. For me, there’s a big difference between 68 and 72 when I’m sleeping. This seems to cause it to run more than the data would suggest… For example, the app reports that the room temperature is 70, and the thermostat is set to 71, yet the AC keeps on running! And since the unit is especially loud when it kicks on (near your sleeping head), I’d really like to see the cycles minimized.

Difficult to afford, but worth every dollar!
The cold powerful airflow has been a live saver for us during is record-breaking HOT summer! Obviously, it can’t cool the entire house, but we have it in our kitchen and I can finally stand to use the stove and oven again so that my family doesn’t have to keep eating sandwiches for dinner! ,)

Portable AC’s are loud. It’s the condenser. If you want silent get a split system or Central Air / HVAC and put it outside your home.

Decent AC
This AC is my first one, so I did quite much research on the features, price, and noise comparison.
I believe it’s trade off between noise level and power, the more space coverage requires more compressing power, and it affects the noise level directly. I know (and I’m sorry) that this is to much information, but I’m going to tell it anyway.
My central air system in my house died. I got a qualified A/C guy to put in a new system, to the toon of $3.500. I’m a senior female that lives on social security, so that was A LOT of money for me, and took every penny I had, plus the rest on a credit card. The new central a/c system did not work properly, and it was mid summer, and hotter then HE–, plus I am extremely hot blooded. I leave my windows open in the winter, (I live in Michigan) so I was miserable. It seems the A/C man installed a 2.5 ton new system, where there was a 2 ton system. I don’t understand it all, but the system keeps freezing up, and you have to shup it down..so it can thaw out, and the A/C man said I now had to buy an additional part..(.because he had installed the wrong system). Don’t ya just love it? Welcome to our new world..where no one will be accountable…if it’s going to cost them money. They pass that off to you, and say ‘Have a nice day’
I went to Amazon and saw a video on installing a Black and Decker portable A/C system, so I ordered 2 systems, Only one arrived. I was pretty happy with it, but I then had to order another one. I really wanted a LG…so I ordered this one. OMGGGG this thing is FANTASTIC!!!! It outblows (the Black and Decker one…with COLD AIR…..by a mile. HOLY SMOKES…I am now wearing my heavy winter robe. The one thing I have to mention is this BEAST is also a Dehumidifier, so water will pour out the back. It happened to me, my handiman had to hook up a hose to the back (where the water was coming out), and feed it outside, and now everything is just PURRRRRFECT, and the BEAST is quietly humming along, and I am as cool as a cucumber….and my central air is off. I have this unit and an 8,000 BTU window unit, both from LG. The 8,000 BTU window unit seems to cool the room much better than this portable one. That said, it works ok and is relatively quieter than the window unit.
